At last night’s Town Council meeting, it was testy at times and very emotional at other times.

Under Council Orders, Resolutions & Ordinances – The following items were approved by a vote of 7-0.

a. Amend Ch. 70 Zoning Ordinance Division 5 Signs (First Reading).
b. Repeal Ch. 62 Site Plan Sec. 62-169 Signs (First Reading).
c. Engineering & Design Scope for CDBG for $32,500.00.
d. PSAP Contract.
e. Purchasing Policy.
f. Tax Club Policy.
g. Solicit bids for Natural Gas.

The following was approved without a vote for a Public Hearing on December 16, 2014 on Slum & Blight designation under CDBG program.  Also, by a vote of 6-1 the Council approved the Vehicle Use Policy with Councilor Brunelle with the NO vote.

Under Other Business – The Finance Director presented the monthly financial report.  The Economic Community Development Director presented the financial report for the Moxie Festival.  Mr. Green updated the Council and the people on what is happening with the bid process on the gym. And finally the Town Manager updated the progress of the Public Works garage which appears to be going in under cost by approximately $150,000.00 because Public Works personnel have been doing the majority of the work.  Also, the Town Clerk confirmed and the Council approved the recount for the School Board position by 7-0.  Gina Mason received 35 write-in votes and Dean Willey received 17 write-in votes.  Gina Mason will be our newest School Board member.

Under Appointments – Mr. Allen Ward is appointed to the Recreation Committee.  Mr. Sean Scully was appointed as the Civil Constable and finally the Council accepted Tyler Golletti resignation from the Planning Board.

Under Councilor Communication – Chairwoman Liza Ward provided an emotional farewell address.  Thank you Liza for your service!
