All Over America Government Agents of Tyranny Are Forcing Preppers Back On To The Grid

Michael Snyder, Contributor
Activist Post

In recent years there have been huge numbers of Americans that have sought to go "off the grid" and live a more independent lifestyle. It has been estimated that there are now approximately 3 million "preppers" in the United States, and many of them just want to be left alone so that they can take care of themselves and their families on their own land. But that is not the way America works anymore.

In many areas of the country, government control freaks have essentially declared war on preppers and are attempting to force them back on to the grid. In some states, "nuisance abatement teams" are conducting armed raids on off the grid properties. Property owners are being cited for "code violations" and are being told that they are "bothering the neighbors". In some cases, trees and gardens are being forcibly removed. In other cases, entire structures are being relocated or torn down. And in the most extreme cases, property owners are actually being forced off of their properties completely by these control freaks.

Russia to send marines to Syria

By Vladimir Isachenkov - The Associated Press
Posted : Monday Jun 18, 2012 15:32:36 EDT
MOSCOW — Two Russian navy ships are completing preparations to sail to Syria with a unit of marines on a mission to protect Russian citizens and the nation’s base there, a news report said Monday. The deployment appears to reflect Moscow’s growing concern about Syrian President Bashar Assad’s future.
The Interfax news agency quoted an unidentified Russian navy official as saying that the two amphibious landing vessels, Nikolai Filchenkov and Caesar Kunikov, will be heading shortly to the Syrian port of Tartus, but didn’t give a precise date.

The official said the ships will carry an unspecified number of marines to protect Russians in Syria and evacuate some equipment from Tartus, if necessary.

Family accuses El Monte police officers of brutality in man's death

By the time two officers arrived at the home, Le had calmed down, Tu said. The officers, whose names were not released by authorities or known by Tu, confronted Le as he was sitting on his bed, using his computer in a small room built inside an attached garage where he lived, Tu said.
The officers demanded to see Le's hands and pulled him from his bedroom, striking him repeatedly with flashlights, placing him in a choke hold, kicking him and shocking him with a Taser four times, the attorney said.

Some of the blows and electrical shocks were delivered as Le was already incapacitated, according to Tu and family members.

"The police kicked him several times while he was down on his knees," sister Diane Le said.
Tuan Le said when he told an officer to stop striking his brother, who was not moving, the officer responded with an expletive before again kicking Khoa Le and shocking him with a Taser.

New Study Shows Chewing Gum Actually Hinders Short-Term Memory

By Madison Ruppert
theintelhub.com
June 18, 2012
Researchers from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom have linked what many would consider an annoying habit of gum chewing to something much more troublesome: short-term memory problems.

Unlike high-fructose corn syrup which has been linked to decreased learning ability and memory function (on top of the inherent dangers of genetically modified foods), it appears that chewing gum actually lessens one’s ability to memorize lists of letters and numbers compared to someone who avoids gum.

In His Own Words: Obama Says He is a Constitution Violating Dictator

By Kurt Nimmo

Last week we reported on the increasingly dictatorial trend of the Obama administration. Now we feature a video highlighting this disturbing trend in Obama’s own words.

In the video, Obama laments that he cannot rule by authoritative fiat and bypass Congress and the American people. He states that despite laws enacted by Congress and the American people, he will do what he wants – or rather, what his globalist handlers want.

Obama presides over an almost complete overthrow of the Constitution. It is treason manifest, but the establishment media will not point this out and instead make excuses for what amounts to a coup d’etat.

Minneapolis Police Officer Charged With 3rd Degree Assault after Punching Man and putting him on Life Support

CBS Minnesota (WCCO) — A Minneapolis police officer faces third-degree felony assault charges after punching a man at an Andover bar.
The incident happened early Saturday night at Tanner’s Station.

According to the criminal complaint, Sgt. David Clifford took offense to some language Brian Vander Lee was using at a nearby table.

Vander Lee is now on life support. Pictures taken by family show a black eye and swelling around his head. He’s had two surgeries and remains in a medically induced coma.

The photographs capture what will likely be a long road to recovery. It is a stark contrast to the incident that sent him to Mercy Hospital.

“I don’t know if anything would warrant that kind of attack,” said Mike Archambault, Vander Lee’s friend.

Archambault was just arriving to Tanner’s Station and was talking on the phone with his best friend, Vander Lee.

“He started to say something and the phone conversation just went dead,” said Archambault.
Vander Lee had just been knocked unconscious with a single punch. Archambault watched the surveillance video of the attack and says it was unprovoked.

No Second Chance to Man Tried Without Notice

(CN) - Justice Sonia Sotomayor blasted her Supreme Court colleagues Monday for rejecting the appeal of a man who did not know he was on trial in South Carolina before the court convicted him.
"A trial conducted without actual notice to a defendant and in his absence makes a mockery of fair process and the constitutional right to be present at trial," Sotomayor wrote. "That is particularly true where, as here, the defendant participated actively in his defense and kept the state informed of his whereabouts."

After 30 minutes of deliberation in 2004, a jury convicted William Fairey of obtaining goods and moneys under false pretenses.

Fairey had not appeared at the South Carolina trial to defend himself, but he had a good reason for his absence.

South Carolina never notified him of the trial date. Even though Fairey had routinely notified the trial court of his changes of address, and received mail from the court at his
home in Florida, prosecutors sent subpoenas to Fairey at two outdated addresses.

I’m not talking about the convenience foods, cookies, or highly processed canned goods—I’m referring to the produce. Wouldn’t it be great to know that all of the natural and beautiful fruits and vegetables were completely safe for your consumption?

While these are likely the healthiest foods at the grocery store, we can no longer trust that they are completely safe. That’s just the times we live in. And while you have every right and justification to question every item you purchase, there are some you should always be wary of.

Giving Birth In Chains

America is almost unique in the civilised world for forcing pregnant prisoners to undergo childbirth cuffed and shackled

Only 16 of 50 states in the US have any regulations or laws against the shackling of female prisoners during childbirth
In 2007, a 17-year-old girl called Cora Fletcher was charged with retail theft. Over a year later, after she missed a court date, she was sent to the Cook County jail, in Illinois. She was eight months pregnant at the time.

During a pre-natal check-up at the facility, her baby appeared to have no heartbeat, so she was sent to the county hospital. As the medical team tried to induce her, Fletcher claims that both her hands and both her feet were shackled to either side of the bed. Only when she finally went into labor, three days later, was one hand and one foot released. It's hard to imagine a more crucifying way to force a woman to try to give birth.

Big Pharma Continues Drug Experiments in Underdeveloped Nations for Profit

Susanne Posel, Contributor
Activist Post

Pharmaceutical corporations, like Novo Nordisk, have been using underdeveloped countries as testing grounds for experimental drug trials. Doctors are beginning to speak out against this practice, citing that it has more to do with increasing profits and less to do with scientific research.

In countries like India and South Africa, where the citizens pay for their medicines, these drug trials are quite profitable for drug corporations.

While drug licensing authorities do not require post-marketing studies, major drug corporations regularly contend that they must conduct more experiments on the human population. Using third-world nations is the easiest way to do so considering that the general population in those countries does not have the ability to speak out and protest.

This is because people 50 years ago simply didn’t measure stress levels; it wasn’t the concern that it is now. But because of the status quo, the need to make more money, gain more accolades, or simply pay the bills—stress has become harder to ignore.
In 1983, a telephone stress survey was conducted. Now, almost three decades later, we get to compare the results of that survey with current numbers to see how stress levels have changed through the years.

Use Skype in Ethiopia and get 15 years in prison

The Ethiopian government has just made it a criminal offense to use VoIP services within the country such as Skype and Google Talk. Anyone caught using VoIP service can now spend 15 years in prison. Ethiopia passed the new law last month, and it’s only just now becoming known outside of the country.

The Ethiopian government argues that the bans on VoIP services are because of “national security concerns.”

Porn Troll Wants Wi-Fi Providers to Pay for Others' Illegal Downloads

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) urged a federal judge today to reject a porn troll's ploy to make a Wi-Fi provider responsible for the purported copyright infringement of another user.

Liberty Media Holdings (LMH) is suing two roommates in New York, alleging the illegal downloading of a pornographic film, even though LMH argues that only one made the infringing copy. Remarkably, LMH claims that the non-downloading roommate is also responsible for copyright infringement, simply because the Internet subscription is in his name and he might have known his roommate sometimes made illegal downloads.

Former CNN War Correspondent Speaks Out On Alleged War Crime CNN Refused To Air

June 16, 2012 – Originally published in late April 2012.
War correspondent Michael Ware worked for CNN from 2006 until April of this year, during which time he became known for covering the hellscape of our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with brutal honesty and a keen analytical sense that often cut against the standard talking points.

He’s since been struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder and today the Brisbane Times is reporting on an event that might have contributed to that — an alleged 2007 war crime that CNN refused to air.

Kate Dennehy, who reports that Ware is “set to reveal” the details, describes the incident:
Mr Ware tells of the alleged incident he says he witnessed and filmed in 2007 when working for US news giant CNN, but claims the network decided the footage was too graphic to go to air.
He alleges that a teenager in a remote Iraqi village run by the militant Islamist group, al-Qaeda was carrying a weapon to protect himself.

“(The boy) approached the house we were in and the (US) soldiers who were watching our backs, one of them put a bullet right in the back of his head. Unfortunately it didn’t kill him,” he tells Australian Story.

“We all spent the next 20 minutes listening to his tortured breath as he died.”

Writing Off The Elderly

Paul Craig Roberts
Activist Post

When neoconservatives, politicians, and high-ranking military officers speak of a 30-year war against terrorism, there is no discussion about its affordability or whether the one significant attack (September 11, 2001) that is attributed, perhaps incorrectly, to Muslim terrorists justifies an open-ended war against a dozen countries. There is no discussion of the burden on future generations of the massive increase in the public debt in order to finance today’s wars.

Affordability and intergenerational burdens are topics reserved for the discussion of Social Security. Conservatives and libertarians constantly assert that Social Security is unaffordable and decry the intergenerational basis for Social Security retirement.

Recently economist Walter Williams again made the argument that Social Security is not a retirement program, because the income earner’s payroll tax payments do not go into an account for the person paying the taxes, but instead are used to pay benefits for older people who have reached retirement age. Williams characterizes Social Security retirees as thieves who outvote those still in the work force and have the ear of Congress. (Source)

This is an ideological argument that overlooks that Social Security is a pact between generations.

Pete Seeger endorses boycott of Israel

Below is a press release issued by Adalah-NY and the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions. For more background see these posts:

Folk music legend Pete Seeger has come out in support of the growing Palestinian movement for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel as a program for justice for Palestinians and a route to peace in the Middle East.

Seeger, 92, participated in last November’s online virtual rally “With Earth and Each Other,” sponsored by the Arava Institute, an Israeli environmental organization, and by the Friends of the Arava Institute. The Arava Institute counts among its close partners and major funders the Jewish National Fund, responsible since 1901 for securing land in Palestine for the use of Jews only while dispossessing Palestinians. Although groups in the worldwide BDS movement had requested he quit the event, Seeger felt that he could make a strong statement for peace and justice during the event.

During a January meeting at his Beacon, NY home with representatives from the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) and Adalah-NY, Pete Seeger explained, “I appeared on that virtual rally because for many years I’ve felt that people should talk with people they disagree with. But it ended up looking like I supported the Jewish National Fund. I misunderstood the leaders of the Arava Institute because I didn't realize to what degree the Jewish National Fund was supporting Arava. Now that I know more, I support the BDS movement as much as I can.”

Obama to Legalize Illegal Immigration by Decree; Will Add 800,000 Voters In November

In the midst of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression in which millions of Americans have lost jobs we can expect even more competition in the employment marketplace.
According to AP sources, President Obama will speak today about a new administration policy that will grant immunity from deportation for some 800,000 immigrants who have entered the country illegally.

The Obama administration will stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and have since led law-abiding lives. The election-year initiative addresses a top priority of an influential Latino electorate that has been vocal in its opposition to administration deportation policies.

Russia Sending Missile Systems to Shield Syria

MOSCOW — Russia’s chief arms exporter said Friday that his company was shipping advanced defensive missile systems to Syria that could be used to shoot down airplanes or sink ships if the United States or other nations try to intervene to halt the country’s spiral of violence.
“I would like to say these mechanisms are really a good means of defense, a reliable defense against attacks from the air or sea,” Anatoly P. Isaykin, the general director of the company, Rosoboronexport, said Friday in an interview. “This is not a threat, but whoever is planning an attack should think about this.”

Forex Trader to Halt Services Due to "Uncertainty in Europe"

In what may foreshadow an extremely volatile week for the euro, the large Forex trading company OANDA announced that it will halt currency trading this Sunday.  In a statement from the company, they said their decision is "very much tied to the uncertainty in Europe."

They claim "there is the potential for extreme exchange rate volatility at a time when global currency markets are closed" should the Greek elections signal a rejection of the ECB's bank bailout and austerity package.

Here is the entire statement from OANDA:
OANDA will halt trading this Sunday, June 17, from 6:00 AM EDT until approximately 3:00 PM EDT. I would like to further explain OANDA’s reasoning for this action.

20010 - 2011 Annual Report Hot Off The Presses

2010-2011 ANNUAL REPORT

Today was a historic day for Lisbon.  Today, the Town of Lisbon released the 2010-2011 Town of Lisbon Annual Report.  This report covers 1 July 2010 through June 30, 2011.  Do you realize it took the town 349 days to complete this report?  In 16 days, the town will begin 2012-2013.  The reaction time for reporting demonstrates total gross negligence on the part of the town manager (Chief Administrative Officer).  The information in this annual report is totally outdated.  The town paid $1,120.00 of our tax dollars to publish 350 copies.

On June 8th, 2012, I received via email the March and April 2012 Managerial Reports.  It took approximately 100 days to publish the March report and 69 days for April’s report.  Taxpayers deserve to have information in a timely manner.  Residents of Lisbon are paying a fortune in taxes for services which are not being provided in a timely manner.  This information is truly outdated and impossible to address to the Town Council for action.  Again, it is the Chief Administrative Officer’s responsibility to provide these reports in a timely manner; especially since he is being paid in excess of $85,000.00 of our tax dollars.

I asked why it took so long to publish the annual report and was told it was because the salary report ends December 31st of the year.  This is strange since the budget and wages are approved for July 1st through June 30th of the next year.  The Annual Report is from 2010-2011 and includes the entire FISCAL year and not calendar year; so why is there so mush delay in getting the report published?  These reports should be published in a timely manner:  (1) Annual Reports should be published and available 45 days from the end of the fiscal year, (2) Managerial Reports should be available 15 days after the end of the month.  The citizens of Lisbon deserve to have this information in a timely manner since we are paying dearly in taxes.

I will have to say the town has a huge sense of humor.  On the cover of the Annual Report is the “Mission Statement”.  Part of the mission statement is “We are committed to serving the public, being accountable with integrity, honesty and responsibility.”  and “We are committed to sharing information with our citizens and including them as partners in the decision making process.”  These two statements are false if you review their track record.

First, the Town Council restricted the Public from speaking on agenda items after having the sponsor explain the proposal, and having the councilors discuss the item.  Instead, the Public is forced to speak on agenda items without the benefit of knowing why the sponsor is raising the issue.  On May 8th at the Public Hearing on the town’s budget, numerous residents’ spoke out against any wage increase and they were totally ignored.  Also, the Advisory Board recommended unanimously NOT accepting the proposed municipal budget and the town council totally ignored them too.   So where is the “including them as partners in the decision making process?

I had to sue the town twice to get information I was entitled to.  I also had to call the state to have them step in to obtain information I was entitled to by law.   Does this sound like being committed to sharing information or including the public in the decision making process?  This just goes to show there is NO integrity, honesty or responsibility by the town manager and the town council.

At what point are the taxpayers going to receive what they are paying for?

What’s more is not only did the company deny this fact, but they did so in a civil court case that ended back in 2007. The charges were finally issued after a long legal struggle against the mega corp initiated by a German farmer named Gottfried Gloeckner whose dairy cattle died after eating the Bt toxin and coming down with a ‘mysterious’ illness.

Grown on his own farm from 1997 to 2002, the cows on the farm were all being fed exclusively on Syngenta’s Bt 176 corn by the year 2000. It was around this time that the mysterious illnesses began to emerge among the cattle population. Syngenta paid Gloeckner 40,000 euros in an effort to silence the farmer, however a civil lawsuit was brought upon the company. Amazingly, 2 cows ate genetically modified maize (now banned in Poland over serious concerns) and died. During the civil lawsuit, however, Syngenta refused to admit that its GM corn was responsible. In fact, they went as far as to claim having no knowledge whatsoever of harm.

2,000 dead Americans: the toll of the Afghan War (so far)

The United States’ war in Afghanistan reached a new milestone this week when the death toll of Americans killed in the decade-long Operation Enduring Freedom reached 2,000.
RT – The United States’ war in Afghanistan reached a new milestone this week when the death toll of Americans killed in the decade-long Operation Enduring Freedom reached 2,000.
The US Department of Defense reports this week thatCpl. Taylor J. Baune, 21, of Andover, Minnesota lost his life in Helmand province, Afghanistan on Wednesday. The marine wed his high-school sweetheart earlier this year, only to be deployed overseas by the military and killed just three months later. The Pentagon has not released information about the cause of death.
The Star Tribune reports that Baune’s commitment with the US Marines was slated to expire this year, at which point he was expected to retire from the Armed Services because he did not intend on spending his life in the military. Now, however, he will live forever as a statistic in America’s longest on-going war by becoming the two-thousandths US soldier to die during the post-9/11 response to al-Qaeda and Taliban-affiliated insurgents.

Wisconsin: None Dare Call It Vote Rigging

Wisconsin: None dare call it vote rigging
June 14, 2012

If vote-rigging prospers, none may call it vote-rigging. It simply becomes the new norm. Once again, the universal laws of statistics
apply only outside U.S. borders. The recall vote in Wisconsin produced another significant 7% discrepancy between the unadjusted exit poll and the so-called "recorded vote." In actual social science, this level of discrepancy, with the results being so far outside the expected margin of error would not be accepted.

When I took Ph.D. statistics to secure my doctorate in political science, we were taught to work through the rubric, sometime referred to as HISMISTER. The "H" stood for an explanation of the discrepancy rooted in some historical intervention, such as one of the candidates being caught in a public restroom with his pants down and a "wide stance" soliciting an undercover cop. The "I" that came next suggested we should check our instrumentation, that is, are the devices adequately reporting the data?   Read more http://www.bushstole04.com/hackingelections/vote_rigging.htm

Court says Scouts 'perversion files' public record

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Oregon Supreme Court has approved the release of 20,000 pages of so-called perversion files compiled by the Boy Scouts of America on suspected child molesters within the organization for more than 20 years, giving the public its first chance to review the records.
Story tools
The files gathered from 1965 to 1985 came to light when they were used as evidence in a landmark Oregon lawsuit that ended in 2010 with a jury ruling that the Scouts had failed to protect a plaintiff who had been molested by an assistant scoutmaster in the early 1980s.

The Scouts were ordered to pay the man $18.5 million and the case drew attention to the organization's efforts to keep child molesters out of its leadership ranks.

NYPD and Homeland Security Actively Arrest Journalists, Press Non-Freedom in the US

Intel Hub Note: Homeland Security and multiple police agencies in the United States are actively working AGAINST the free press. This is 100% unconstitutional and is a clear sign of treason.
RT

June 14, 2012
With Occupy Wall Street shedding light on police brutality and arrests that the US has not seen in a while, America has also seen journalists getting arrested – for simply having a press pass that the police doesn’t deem appropriate.

How is this affecting the state of press freedom in the country?

Dramatic scenes unfolding in the US during Occupy Wall Street clashes with police have been a must-cover event for a journalist. Kirill Belyaninov – a correspondent for a Russian daily newspaper Kommersant – got arrested while reporting on the protests. No muss – no fuss.

BBC – Is It Game Over For Greece? Bank Run Now Up To $1 Billion A Day

/

The amount of money being pulled out of Greece banks nearly doubles within a 24 hour period is now up to $1 billion dollars a day.

It just may be game over for Greece and those words are coming from the BBC.
Why? Every single bank account in Greece is facing “capital controls” in the form of frozen accounts and ATM withdrawn limits.

The simple reason is money is just disappearing from the banks at astronomical rates.
Yesterday, we did an update of the Greek bank jog, when noting that between €100-€500 million per day was being withdrawn from Greek banks based on Kathimerini reports. 24 hours later the jog has become a trot with the most recent estimate from Reuters now estimated at nearly double: “Combined daily deposit outflows from the major Greek banks have reached 500-800 million euros over the past few days, with the pace picking up as the election draws closer and rising noticeably on Tuesday, two bankers said.” This is roughly $1 billion a day in the upper case, and a number that is approaching 0.5% of the entire documented €170 billion (now likely much less) deposit base.

Twenty-six members of Congress call on Obama to justify drone strikes

June 14, 2012 by

(RAW STORY)   Twenty-six members of Congress have called on President Barack Obama to provide a legal justification for so-called “signature” drone strikes against suspected terrorists.

The Washington Post reported in April that the CIA and Joint Special Operations Command have been authorized to strike targets based solely on patterns of suspicious behavior that are detected through various means of intelligence — the actually identity of the target does not need to be known.

“We are concerned that the use of such ‘signature’ strikes could raise the risk of killing innocent civilians or individuals who may have no relationship to attacks on the United States,” the members of Congress, lead by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), wrote Wednesday in a letter to Obama. “Our drone campaigns already have virtually no transparency, accountability or oversight. We are further concerned about the legal grounds for such strikes under the 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force.”

babycarrotsonplate 235x147 How Are Baby Carrots Made? How are baby carrots made? While obvious to some, many people may not know that baby carrots are not naturally occurring. What you may also find surprising is that these carrots aren’t genetically modified, or even grown/harvested specifically to be small. Showing one farmer’s creative thinking, and society’s desire to have the perfect looking food, the story behind baby carrots is indeed an interesting one.

On June 12, 2008, the Supreme Court ruled 5 - 4 in Boumediene v. Bush. It affirmed habeas rights for Guantanamo detainees. It let them petition for release from lawlessly imposed custody.

Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote the majority opinion. He said America maintains complete jurisdiction over Guantanamo regardless of its offshore location. He opposed political branches "govern(ing) without legal restraint."

Obama trade document leaked, revealing new corporate powers and broken campaign promises

Press TV  A critical document from President Barack Obama’s free trade negotiations with eight Pacific nations was leaked online early Wednesday morning, revealing that the administration intends to bestow radical new political powers upon multinational corporations, contradicting prior promises.

The leaked document has been posted on the website of Public Citizen, a long-time critic of the administration’s trade objectives. The new leak follows substantial controversy surrounding the secrecy of the talks, in which some members of Congress have complained they are not being given the same access to trade documents that corporate officials receive.

Forget Three Months: Italy May Have Two Weeks Tops, As It ‘Already Is Where Spain Is Heading’

The cost of Italian sovereign debt has pushed the nation on the brink of insolvency as Italian politicians continue to pretend they can kick the can down the road.

Yesterday, Austrian finance minister Maria Fekter ruffled the unelected Italian PM’s feather by saying “forget Spain, Italy is next in the bailout line” – a statement which as expected was promptly loudly refuted, mocked, and scorned by everyone possible: the type of reaction that only the truth can possibly generate in Europe. So far so good: after all the typical European reaction to any instance of the truth is loud screams of “lies, lies” and promptly sticking your head deep in the sand. However, this time around Italy may not have the benefit of the doubt, nor the benefit of some sacrificial replacement of a prime minister: Silvio is long gone, and at this point switching one banker figurehead with another will do precisely nothing. Which is why this morning’s assessment from Bloomberg economist David Powell is spot on: “Italy would probably be forced into receiving a bailout if it were to face another two weeks like the last seven days.” But the punchline: “The bad news for Italy is the country’s stock of debt is already as large as Spain’s may become after years of fiscal turmoil. In other words, Italy already is where Spain may be heading.
