How Sleep Directly Affects Your Metabolism

Patrick Gallagher

sleepless3 220x137 How Sleep Directly Affects Your MetabolismHave you ever wondered why there are so many cases of obesity, high blood pressure, and heart disease among the people you work with and live around? In many cases, there are multiple reasons for this, including dietary issues, work stress, and a number of other factors, but there is a very high likelihood that those people may be suffering from such ailments because of one key reason: sleeplessness.

Indeed, the lack of sleep experienced by American citizens is one of the key debilitating factors squandering a great deal of the human resources that we need to function as a society. It is a consistent uphill battle under the veil of sleeplessness for each one of us whether we realize it or not; unfortunately, many people don’t realize they are lacking sleep. The greatest thanks for our mass sleeplessness can go to the concerted efforts of the industries offering sugary beverages, and the more recent energy drink frenzy that a high percentage of the populace consumes. The great, diverse variety of sugared drinks that the populace has the power to choose over natural, healthy alternatives is one of the greatest faults of the industry.

Avocados Naturally Conquer Aging and Disease

Anthony Gucciardi

avocados 220x137 Avocados Naturally Conquer Aging and DiseaseContrary to many anti-aging pills and creams, avocados are extremely inexpensive and also quite a delicious addition to any seasonal meal. The best part, however, is that they are actually effective in fighting both again and bolstering your immune system to fight off disease — no expensive medical interventions required. The powerful yet 100% natural effect has to do with how the oil from the fruit can combat free radicals, which have been linked to countless conditions including cancer and heart disease (as well as aging, and in many cases accelerated aging).
What’s most amazing about the antioxidants found in avocados is their ability to ‘deeply’ penetrate inside the body and actually enter the mitochondria, a tiny ‘powerhouse’ which actually turns food into energy inside your body. Your mitochondria are actually teeming with free radicals, which are assaulting the tiny energy assimilators on a daily basis. While other fruits and vegetables — powerful in many ways as well — offer beneficial antioxidants, avocados possess the unique ability to actually make their way inside mitochondria. This is an effect that has scientists raving over the usage of avocados in the prevention of disease and aging.

GOP presidential Candidate Ron Paul is now confirmed to have won his second state, Minnesota, as the media remains silent about the victory.

Ron Paul is now confirmed to have won the state of Minnesota as the corporate media continues the blackout of the Ron Paul campaign.

According to the video, Minnesota is the second state Ron Paul has won and if he wins just three more states like this he is guaranteed to be on the GOP national convention whether the establishment wants it or not.

The news follows a CNN report that establishment GOP delegates are refusing to support Romney as the Presidential candidate and part of a much under reported story that Romney is having problems obtaining the number of delegates needed to secure the nomination.

President Obama issues a constitution trampling executive order declaring Syria a national emergency and outlaws reporting on terrorist rebel activities.

In perhaps the most unconstitutional power grab by the Obama administration to date the constitutional rights of Freedom of Press and Freedom of speech have now been suspended under the false premise that the “human rights violations” in Syria and Iran constitute as “national emergency”.
Perhaps even more laughable than the claim that the conflict in Syria is somehow a national emergency is the fact that the executive order directly states that excuse being used to target Iran is human rights violations are alleged to have occurred in 1981, over 31 years ago, which were supposed to have occurred when the US funded the Iraqi’s to invade Iran and was trying to instigate a revolution within Iran much like they are doing in Syria right now.

A recent video report from Christina Consolo (Radchick) documents possible plant mutations caused by fallout from the multiple nuclear meltdowns in Japan.
Despite the fact that the US government claimed that there was no danger posed to the United States due to the Fukushima nuclear disaster, recent NRC documents prove that there was a large scale criminal conspiracy to cover up the dangers.
In the video Christina goes over numerous photos of dandelions that were found mutated in a Michigan parking lot.

Puerto Rico’s Growing Voter Fraud Scandal

(FOXNEWS)   Puerto Rico’s Electoral Commission opened an investigation on Monday into allegations of vote tampering and voter fraud by both of the island’s main political parties in the island’s recent political primaries.

Tens of thousands of Puerto Ricans went to the ballots on March 18 to decide which candidates of the New Progressive Party (NPP) and the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) for mayors, senators and representatives would go on to the November elections.

The process was fraught with discrepancies, with the NPP and PDP flinging fraud and vote count accusations at each other. But the most egregious allegations stem from an internal fight within the NPP in Guaynabo –where the popular mayor of the city, Hector O’Neill, backs the candidacy of the incumbent representative Antonio Soto, while the top leadership of the NPP party backs an opponent, Angel Pérez. The race triggered a battle that forced a recount of the primaries ballots for the first time in Puerto Rico’s political history. Recounts were up to now reserved only for the general elections.

Residents of a Chicago condo received a letter from management last week informing them that they should move out of their homes during the upcoming NATO confab to be held in the Windy City next month.

If the residents decide to remain, they will be subjected to a lockdown.

“In the event of a riot or the potential of one near the building,” the letter states, “all access doors will be locked including the garage door. For everyone’s safety we will be instructing anyone in the building to stay in his or her unit.”

Aaron Klein, writing for WorldNetDaily on Saturday, said radicals with ties to Obama plan to riot during the NATO summit.

The report follows earlier reports that the Turkish military forces launched multiple stage attacks against Syria to which the Syrian army later responded with counter attacks.

Klein reported Turkey has been agitating Syria over the last few days is an is actively trying to provoke Syria into a war while providing military support to armed Syria rebels along the border.
Klein stated he was informed about the mobilization of the Turkish army from a Syria official and was unable to confirm the reports as several Turkish officials he contacted refused to comment on the situation.

In The Wake of Epic Financial Fraud, The American Ruling Class Choose Stability Over Justice And Law

"Wayne Smith, who is a distinguished professor at Johns Hopkins, formerly the State Department's representative in Cuba, resigned in 1982 in protest of Reagan's policies . . . Not long ago, during the summer when I was reading some of these books, we were talking on the phone. He said that their feeling back then, at the time of the killing, was that the nation was simply not ready for the awful truth, that the fabric of society couldn't tolerate it, it couldn't accept it. And then he said he wasn't sure they were necessarily wrong given the circumstances back then.

Although, his position is that now enough time has gone by that we should investigate. He would like to see a full, honest investigation at the proper present time. My answer to him, maybe I'm a purist, maybe I'm still in a perverse way naive as I was naive when the CIA was using me, but I don't buy that. Even if it would tear the nation apart from top to bottom. If you have such cynicism, that they can kill the president and stuff it down the public's throat, the cover-up, and go on about their lives, then we need to tear the society apart from top to bottom and shake it apart, and get some sense of law and order. What reality of order can there be in a society that is that cynical." - John Stockwell, a former CIA officer turned whistleblower, speaking about the JFK assassination and cover-up in September 1989 on the Austin-based news show Alternative Views.

"If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for the law. It invites every man to become a law unto himself. It invites anarchy." - Justice Louis Brandeis.

How Will History Remember You?

How are you going to spend your life? When it is all said and done, how will history remember you? Unfortunately, these days most people do not spend much time thinking about those kinds of questions. Most people just kind of stumble through life without any clear direction or meaning. Sadly, our society makes it far too easy to remain "comfortably numb" the vast majority of the time. We are absolutely addicted to entertainment and there is more of it available today than ever before - television, movies, music, video games, sports events, food, gambling, shopping - the outlets for feeding our addictions are seemingly endless. But do you really want to spend your life feeding your addictions and keeping yourself entertained as much as possible?

The following is a saying that has stayed with me my entire life: "Life is like a coin - you can spend it any way that you want, but you can only spend it once." If the fact that we are all hurtling through space on this giant rock is just some kind of cosmic accident and life really does not have any meaning, then yes it would make sense to fill up our lives with as much pleasure as possible before we die. But if life really does have meaning and the things that we do today can have a permanent impact on the future, then perhaps many of us need to start thinking about what kind of legacy we are going to leave behind once we are gone.

10 Important Issues Only Ron Paul is Addressing

Sure they may have minor differences in how to bailout the economy through corporate welfare, or how to fight the war on terror (sic), or have a percentage or two difference in their tax policies; but they still view the status quo as acceptable.  Neither candidate proposes any significant changes to transform a dying system that threatens to destroy the nation.

Connecticut Bill Would Allow Citizens to Sue Police Who Arrest Them for Filming in Public

CT State Senator Eric Coleman
The trend of individuals being arrested for legally filming police in public is an issue which gets me especially frustrated and a favorite topic of mine to bring up here at End the Lie.

Thankfully, recently individuals have been striking back through lawsuits and in some cases charges have been dropped.

Furthermore, an Illinois judge declared their state wiretapping law unconstitutional in a case which surrounded recording police in public.

That being said, police are still engaging in deplorable activities like confiscating cell phones and destroying evidence and flipping out for no reason when being filmed.

Economic data and technical data coming out of Spain is telling us point blank that disaster is looming and will trigger the dominos to fall across Europe.

Alexander Higgins
April 21, 2012
The perfect storm of an economic collapse fueled by an all out housing and mortgage crash, a sovereign debt crisis, and a run on the over-leveraged unregulated Spanish banks is hammering Spain right now.

The IMF and the ECB knows that Spain is too big to bail out which is really bad news considering the economic data and technical indicators show irrefutable evidence that Spain is about to enter a full-scale collapse which will in turn send the dominoes falling across Europe.

Last year we were repeatedly warned that if Greece defaulted the result would be Financial Armageddon and even warned America could lose its financial sovereignty.

The when Greece finally defaulted, the media downplayed the ramifications and claimed the debt contagion wouldn’t spread.

They lied and there is a reason that Spain has banned all cash transactions over 2,500 Euros and the IMF is raising the alarm that the debt crisis will persist throughout all of 2012.

The Dutch government is on the brink of collapse after politicians hit an impasse on implementing austerity measures required to secure a bailout.

As the economic and technical data points to financial Armageddon looming in Spain Dutch politicians are deadlocked over the decision to implement brutal austerity measures to secure an economic bailout or to tell the bankers to shove it and take the path of Iceland.

Dutch politicians have announced they can not come to an agreement on austerity limits required to secure the bailout to save the Dutch economy.

After failing to come to an agreement with the Prime Minister, Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders announced that his party no longer supports the government and is now calling for new elections to be held as soon as possible.

Army probes drug use by soldiers in Afghanistan

By Lolita C. Baldor - The Associated Press
Posted : Saturday Apr 21, 2012 9:09:05 EDT
WASHINGTON — The Army has investigated 56 soldiers in Afghanistan on suspicion of using or distributing heroin, morphine or other opiates during 2010 and 2011, newly obtained data shows. Eight soldiers died of drug overdoses during that time.

While the cases represent just a slice of possible drug use by U.S. troops in Afghanistan, they provide a somber snapshot of the illicit trade in the war zone, including young Afghans peddling heroin, soldiers dying after mixing cocktails of opiates, troops stealing from medical bags and Afghan soldiers and police dealing drugs to their U.S. comrades.

In a country awash with poppy fields that provide up to 90 percent of the world’s opium, the U.S. military struggles to keep an eye on its far-flung troops and monitor for substance abuse.

American police state: officer may be fired for protecting young man from police brutality

Madison Ruppert, Contributor
Activist Post

The United States’ descent into a hellish police state continues and appears to only get worse as the years go by. The case of Officer Regina Tasca of the Bogota Police Department in New Jersey is a troubling example of just how far gone some law enforcement agencies are today.

In this case, Officer Tasca is being declared “psychologically incompetent” for stepping in to save an emotionally disturbed young man from a brutal beating at the hands of police.

Here at End the Lie I have covered just a few of the troubling things police are able to get away with, such as murdering elderly tourists with pepper spray while they are restrained and brutally beating senior citizens suffering from dementia.

While the irresistible delicious spice can add a certain zest to your meals, it also packs powerful health benefits. The next time that you have the urge to indulge in a cinnamon-based treat, you should give in — your body will thank you. Afterall, cinnamon has a plethora of serious wellness benefits that should not be overlooked.

Amazingly, cinnamon is considered as one of the oldest spice that is still in use across the globe. Originally, it was grown only within Sri Lanka and other parts of the South East Asia. In early 2000 BC, this was transported to Egypt. Today, almost all countries around the world rely on the wonderful flavor that rouses from cinnamon. In addition, many cultures were — and still are — fully aware of cinnamon’s healing characteristics.

Lisbon's literacy problem

INEPT IS THE NORM
It is disgraceful for the citizens of Lisbon to continually be subjected to inept management by Eldridge and his cronies. The town has established a web site to keep the residents informed of what is going on in the town. This web site is an excellent method of communicating with the public. The only problem with this is when the inept manager and his cronies do not proof read the information posted on the site. These town employees have posted articles written by a department head that contains misspelled words, poor word choices, and even more appalling elemental grammatical errors.

These postings are a reflection of this town and right now it is clear this town is being operated by a bunch of hicks with little or no education. It also demonstrates Eldridge, the Chief Administrative Officer, is completely incompetent. Eldridge receives a salary of $83,000+ of taxpayers’ dollars for publishing garbage.

However, this web site is utilized to conceal information the citizens need to know. A prime example is the up-coming Public Hearing on the Planning Board recommendation to change the “Conditional Usages” along the Route 9 corridor.
>br>
I completely understand the law ONLY requires the town to post the announcement in the local newspapers at least two weeks prior to the hearing. Two weeks ago, Eldridge announced at the Town Council meeting, there was going to be a Public Hearing held on April 26, 2012 and hosted by the Planning Board on the Route 9 changes. However, there is a portion of the town web site called “Agenda & Minutes; Agenda Document; Public Hearing Documents”.

This costs the town absolutely nothing to post changes so why doesn’t the town utilize it for ALL Public Hearings? This town web site has posted the May 1, 2012 Public Hearing on the Gartley Street zoning proposal but yet there is no mention of the Panning Board’s Public Hearing.

In this day and age, computers are everywhere and probably the fastest means of providing information to the masses in a speedy manner. Keep in mind, this cost nothing to post so why not utilize it. There can only be two possible reason not to utilize this web site and they are (1) Keep the citizens in the dark and not let them know what is going on in their community or (2) the town manager in totally inept. The choice is yours.

It is time to get rid of this town manager and put a stop to this incompetency. It is not rocket science to post professional documents or to post necessary information for the public. The purpose of a web site is to notify readers of information crucial to keeping residents informed. There is no transparency in Lisbon. Eldridge and Brooks do not want anyone to know what is going on or how they are manipulating this town.

Student protests in Montreal have turned into violent riots forcing police to use batons, grenades and chemical irritants to control crowds refusing to disperse.

What started of as peaceful protests by students in opposition to tuition rate hikes and other issues has erupted into violent riots after crowds were met by police in riot gear attempting to disperse the crowds.

When the protestors refused to disperse police began firing tear gas and concussion grenades on the crowd and instead of dispersing the crowds stood their ground.

Instead they responded by throwing a “firestorm of rocks and other projectiles” at the police and things quickly became violent.

Protestors have torn down police barricades and began damaging property as clash turned in violent fighting with both police and protestors being injured in the melee.

Canadian officials are condemning the violence and say that the protestors are now being joined by violent militants.

Former NSA technical director says the government is lying about their massive power to spy on Americans and warns it has the power to create an Orwellian turkey totalitarian state.

Just a month ago we raised more than a proverbial eyebrow when we noted the creation of the NSA’s Utah Data Center (codename Stellar Wind) and William Binney’s formidable statement that “we are this far from a turnkey totalitarian state”. Democracy Now has the former National Security Agency technical director whistleblower’s first TV interview in which he discusses the NSA’s massive power to spy on Americans and why the FBI raided his home. Since retiring from the NSA in 2001, he has warned that the NSA’s data-mining program has become so vast that it could “create an Orwellian state.” Today marks the first time Binney has spoken on national TV about NSA surveillance. Starting with his pre-9-11 identification of the world-wide-web as a voluminous problem since the NSA was ‘falling behind the rate-of-change’, his success in creating a system (codenamed Thin-Thread) for ‘grabbing’ all the data and the critical ‘lawful’ anonymization of that data (according to mandate at the time) which as soon as 9-11 occurred went out of the window as all domestic and foreign communications was now stored (starting with AT&T’s forking over their data). This direct violation of the constitutional rights of everybody in the country was why Binney decided he could not stay (leaving one month after 9-11) along with the violation of almost every privacy and intelligence act as near-bottomless databases store all forms of

communication collected by the agency, including private emails, cell phone calls, Google searches and other personal data.

All Wrapped Up, Right Mitt? Not So Fast! GOP Delegates REFUSE To Sign Romney Pledge
Members of the Republican National Committee gathering in Arizona were invited to meet with Mitt Romney in private Friday and have their pictures taken with the presumptive GOP nominee, but there was a price of admission: loyalty.

RNC members and state GOP chairmen were welcomed into the private reception only after signing a form pledging to support Romney as a delegate to the national convention in Tampa.

All 168 members of the committee have a vote at the convention as “superdelegates” – and one of Romney’s supporters on the RNC estimated that over 100 members signed the form.

The Romney “delegate pledge form” asked members to sign their name and “pledge to vote for Mitt Romney at the 2012 Republican National Convention on all ballots until Mitt Romney has been nominated.”

Signers were given the option of declaring their support publicly or privately by checking one of two boxes….

Not everyone was allowed to join in the fun.

Recently India announced they are refusing to abide by US imposed sanctions against Iran.
In utter defiance the have even entered into a contract to purchase Iranian oil.
Conveniently the media has responded by hyping up India’s nuclear weapons even though they have had them for years.

There is also a campaign of propaganda trying to pit China against them by running headlines that India is test firing nuclear capable intercontinental missiles capable of reaching China.

How the US uses sexual humiliation as a political tool to control the masses

Believe me, you don't want the state having the power to strip your clothes off. And yet, it's exactly what is happening

The discussion continues today at 12pm ET (5pm UK time) when Naomi Wolf takes your questions about her column. Join us for an hour long live chat about the supreme court, strip searches and sexual humiliation.

In a five-four ruling this week, the supreme court decided that anyone can be strip-searched upon arrest for any offense, however minor, at any time. This horror show ruling joins two recent horror show laws: the NDAA, which lets anyone be arrested forever at any time, and HR 347, the "trespass bill", which gives you a 10-year sentence for protesting anywhere near someone with secret service protection. These criminalizations of being human follow, of course, the mini-uprising of the Occupy movement.

Is American strip-searching benign? The man who had brought the initial suit, Albert Florence, described having been told to "turn around. Squat and cough. Spread your cheeks." He said he felt humiliated: "It made me feel like less of a man."

Congress wants all cars to be equipped with recording devices

The federal government is about to become the country’s worst backseat driver. Congress wants to put tracking devices in the car of every American, and that’s not even the scariest provision in a new bill being passed around Washington.

The US Senate has already signed off on a new legislation that, if cleared by the rest of Congress, will see to it that the government gets its eyes and ears inside every automobile in the country. Senate Bill 1813 calls for the installation of mandatory recorders and communication devices in Americans’ cars that could connect the whereabouts and actions of the country’s drivers with whomever the government wants to grant access to. It doesn’t stop there, though — another provision in the proposed bill will give the government the power to revoke passports from Americans behind on their taxes, essentially making it impossible for the indebted to escape the country.

It’s being touted around the capital as the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act, or MAP-21, and Congress is considering it under the explanation that the bill will “reauthorize Federal-aid highway and highway safety construction programs.” In the abstract drafted on Capitol Hill, however, the act is described as having provisions necessary “for other purposes.” And while no lawmakers explicitly explain the benefits of some questionable content within MAP-21, what the government could get away with if the bill is passed is something eerily Orwellian.

Helo crashes in Afghanistan; 4 troops on board

By Robert Burns - The Associated Press
Posted : Thursday Apr 19, 2012 17:58:51 EDT
WASHINGTON — An Army helicopter crashed on a nighttime mission in southwestern Afghanistan on Thursday, and initial reports from the scene indicated that as many as four soldiers may have been killed, a U.S. defense official said.

In a brief official announcement, the American military command in Kabul said there were “no confirmed reports” of casualties “at this time.” The announcement did not specify the nationality of the helicopter crew and said the cause of the crash was unknown.

Two U.S. defense officials said four U.S. troops were aboard the helicopter, identified as an Army Black Hawk, and one official said initial word from the scene was that officials “don’t expect” that any of the four survived. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because details were still being collected and the families of the helicopter crew had not yet been notified.

Unspecified weather difficulties may have played a role in the crash, the two officials said, but it also was possible that enemy action was factor.

Jury to Hear Claims of Police Pig Pile Gone Bad

(CN) - Massachusetts police may be liable for allegedly tackling and suffocating a man who tried to flee a sobriety checkpoint on foot, a federal judge ruled.

In November 2009, the Massachusetts state police and officers from the North Andover and Essex County departments set up a sobriety checkpoint manned by 33 officers on Route 114.

While driving down Route 114 toward North Andover with his pitbull, Ruckus, that evening, Kenneth Howe lit up a marijuana blunt. He quickly attempted to put out the blunt and put on his seatbelt when he saw the checkpoint.

Trooper Jodi Gerardi, who had noticed Howe's "furtive movements," ordered Howe out of his pickup as soon as she smelled marijuana. It is disputed whether Howe hit Gerardi as he got out of his truck or vice versa, but both parties agree that he attempted to flee on foot.

Lisbon Maine Town Council Recap April 17th Meeting

RECAP TOWN COUNCIL MEETING/WORKSHOP – APRIL 17TH

At Tuesday’s Town Council meeting/workshop it was business as usual. The meeting portion of the evening was very uneventful and was completed in about a half an hour. There was nothing earth shattering on the agenda.

The most interesting information released by the council was in response to the question I had asked in the previous meeting. The question was: “In what computer system has Mr. Van Tuenin stored or uploaded the reevaluation information for the first year? Mr. Van Tuenin has told me personally that he will not utilize TRIO software.” The response was the reevaluation information is stored in a computer other than TRIO. This was totally insignificant to the council but I am extremely concerned for two reasons (1) there is no redundancy for this computer. If this computer dies, and if you have ever owned a computer you know this is a frequent occurrence, the town would have to rely on the backups provided if there are backups being performed regularly. Backups need to be checked to ensure that the integrity of the information can be restored and (2) if the town cannot pay for next years’ reevaluation what will happen to the data already collected? Does Van Tuenin own the computer and the data or does the town own the data? This could turn into a legal battle. The data needs to be retained by the town at all times with a method of redundancy established to protect the data already paid for by the taxpayers.

The other questions I had asked pertained to the budget. Chairman LaRochelle explained the budget is being worked every day and could not provide concrete information on them. I completely understand the municipal budget is being worked and he was not prepared to provide concrete answers.

Now, let’s move on to the workshop portion of the town council meeting. The council asked the Police Chief, Public Works Director and the Fire Chief to explain their portions of the budget.
Brooks did a wonderful job of double talking the council and the council sucked it all in. Items such as $30,600.00 for furniture in the communications department were simply dismissed as a required item. There is one Dispatcher working on one console (even though there are two consoles in the communications department) in one room.

Brooks made sure I knew there were two consoles in there but how many consoles can one person use?
The town has a grant for $97,000 to upgrade the communications equipment (both consoles). Even so $30,600.00 is excessive for two consoles and two chairs unless you are going to turn the communications department into a lounge.

There was another significant event in the Police budget that is extremely disturbing. Brooks explained the description under wages. I quote; “Includes a 2% wage adj. and a reclas to the Communication line for half of one salary for management coverage.” When asked who this person was, Councilor Bowie said it was not appropriate to identify the person.  I believe the officially unidentified person is none other the Bowie's wife, Denise Bowie. Councilor Lunt then asked how much the salary was and Brooks stated $28,985.00 for half which means Denise Bowie must have received more than a 1.75% raise last year because her salary as an Administrative Assistant was $44,905.65 according to the Finance Director. This also means Mrs. Bowie’s salary was $57,970.00 which is a difference of $13,064.35. According to my calculator 1.75% increase of $44,905.65 is $785.84 which is a far cry from $13,064.35.

How is it possible for Mrs. Bowie to be receiving such a pay increase without the town council voting on this increase? What is Brooks doing and why so much?

According to the investigation completed by the Ethics Panel and testimony by Brooks and Councilor Bowie, Mrs. Bowie was not involved or did not work in the Communications Department even though it was in her job description. Had she been more involved with the communications department there would have been a conflict of interest with Councilor Bowie. What gives; were you lying then or are you lying now Brooks because you cannot keep changing your mind to suit the situation?

The most incredible aspect of this whole scenario is the town is taking an Administrative Assistant and converting this position to a management position. Once, this is completed the town will have another department head with an inflated salary (cronyism) and Brooks will need another female administrative assistant to fill the void. What is wrong with this picture?

This council has no intentions of trying to cut spending. The proposed budget is a disgrace and an injustice to the taxpayers. This council is looking to increase spending at least 1 mil if not 2 mil this year. They have no understanding of how to manage taxpayers hard earned money.
This year the state revenue was increased approximately $65,000 dollars and if we could cut spending the town would have a great opportunity to reduce taxes but instead this council is increasing the wages of the department heads. Our department heads already receive approximately $166,000 plus more than their counterparts in Skowhegan, so instead we are adding another 2% to these inflated salaries.
Do you get the feeling the taxpayers of Lisbon are being screwed?

                             Vote them out in November!
